Default Pioneer DEH-P6700MP - Output Level

I have a quick question about my pioneer DEH-P6700MP. I have my preout setting on the output set at full (PREOUT:FULL). If I'm setting the gains on the amplifier that powers the subwoofer, would I have my nonfading output level on "0" or "+6"?

Here's what I usually do. I set the preout level to the mid point, then adjust the gains on the amp. That way, I can still turn the preout level down if it's too much or turn it up when I want a little more "kick".
