Default About Honda Accord 98 tranny issues...

Somebody may tell whats the problem with part of my car, I really my car, but this issue is not good. I talk with a friend, and he has the same car and he uses Slick50 ANNUAL AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION TREATMENT, he said that no problem with the tranny. It really can help to protect and avoid problems?

The automatic transmissions in the 98-02 Accords were pretty crappy with a high failure rate (my auto tranny went out in my '98 4-cyl ). I'd recommend changing your transmission fluid with genuine Honda ATF-z1 once or twice a year. I wouldn't put ANYTHING else in that transmission if I were you. Installing a tranny cooler may help as well.

as long as you take car of the tranny, change fluids, and dont beat on it by trying to race it, it should be fine. Its those idiots that never take car of their car and try to race their automatics from light to light that the problem reoccures. In other words, treat your tranny as if it were the last one left, baby it....

Check Jegs or Summit or stop by a local auto parts store to find one. Use the search button for plenty of threads on the topic

Right, go type 'cooler' into the junk assed search program.
I doubt you could even find Accord in that search program
The reason I don't flame people about repeat questions is because

Riiiiiiiiiiight. I typed "tranny cooler" and got 11 threads in Accord section alone and 48 threads on the site with "tranny cooler" in the title. It's not rocket science
