well, mounting the tranny radiator is usually something of personal preference/where it will fit. In this case maybe someone has already done it, and can give you a recommended mounting location.
well i've never done it before, but i belive it goes something like this...
First off let the car sit for a while to cool down, because the fluid will be hot.
You need to find the ATF cooler hoses that go from the tranny to the factory radiator.
Next you need to determine a good place to put the aftermarket cooler that will provide good airflow; while staying close enough to the transmission, so you wont have to lengthen the hoses too much (which will drop pressure). If you get a small, compact one, it should do fine in the lower grill area. If you do, and your car is turbo, remember to put it behind the IC. You'll just have to look and see where the best place to put it would be.
Once you have that part taken care of, mount up the cooler, disconnect the hoses from the factory radiator, and connect to the aftermarket unit.
Coolant will come out so have a bucket and towel handy to clean up the mess.
Once finished, check fluid level and fill if needed (which it will).
If you have a Helms, it shows you where the hoses are.
I shouldnt take more than a couple of hours, at most.
If someone has any more to add/correct, please do so.

if you are going to install a tranny cooler take the time to install a tranny remote filter kit as well, the type that uses spin-on filters (i never trusted them oil screen pos' inside the tranny)

Im sure they filter a hell of a lot better also.
yeah man, and you can put the oil filter magnet on the filter and trap more metallic particulates, your tranny will thank you ^_^
its a "cheap" permacool from summit, both of them... i forgot the p/n but the are like $20-30... and they are strapped with zip ties for the most part with one stainless clamp each... just in case...
do you guy think mounting the tranny cooler in front of the radiator is a good idea?
coz i was reading option2(nov) and the japanese dude is mounting the oil cooler(turbo) there too..

well, heh, what good would it do installing it behind the radiator? the fluid would not cool
but you can do it on the pass side of the front bumper if you want to, particularly if you have other stuff getting in the way, but you would have to cut vents in the side and possably the front to feed it (or just re-roue air from front or port in front lip if you have one.
i dont like tube and fin (i dont think it dissipates heat enough[lack of surface area]) i use a stacked bar and plate made by setrab for my oil cooler

or you could install a functional roof scoop and duct the air down the a-pillars inside the car, through the floorboard, and onto a cooler mounted underneath the car. of course i would never do that to a daily driven car, and not just because i hate the look of roof scoops.
LOL i hate those side vents/scope that leads to no where..lol
I am thinking of mounting the cooler on the left bumper vents.
since the right side is full due to my CAI.
no it's not here yet, the shipping is really slow..
thx guy
