ls/v-tec turbo timing marks not lining up
i am having a problem getting the timing marks to line up on my motor. when i set the crank to tdc and try to install the belt it is about half a tooth off at the exhaust cam. i have a gsr t-belt a 22t waterpump. is this a common problem and how do i fix it? trust me it is not just me not knowing what i'm doing i am a technician at the honda dealer and i know how to install a t-belt.
can someone please at least tell me yes this is common for the ls v-tec or no it is not common. it's just one word

yeah ive dealt with this annoyance too.
get some punchpins and put them in the camshafts through the #1 camcaps. that will keep the gears at tdc then see if you can get the belt on the crank and gears. it might be a lil loose at first then use the tensioner to make it tight by turning the motor over a few times.
if thats not working, maybe just set the gears and crank a little before tdc and then when you put the whole thing together and rotate it over the tension on the belt might line everything up.
those are the 2 tricks i usually use
