timing belt question?

timing belt question?
i just put my ls vtec together and i can't get the TDC mark on the crank to match up with the TDC marks on my cam gear. no matter how hard i try it is off by a little bit. is this normal, i'm doing everything rite. will this mess anything up?

yea gsr belt, gsr waterpump. i don't know man, when the TDC marks on the cam gears line up the TDC mark on the crank goes past a bit. tried to line it up many times still won't line up.
