What would be good for boost I am looking to lower my compresion. My motor is stock and has 10.4 to 1. So I will be getting a thicker gasket than stock.

no reason to get anything other than OEM honda, nothing out performs a honda headgasket period. Especially with golden eagles copper coating, i would just purschase a headgasket from golden eagle and you won't have any problems.

What HP are you looking to make? Most people usually run around 9:1 compression, but it depends on a lot of variables..........

I thought the B16A2 has 10.2:1 CR?

I have a B16A with 9.9:1 and I boost to 12psi with an OEM HG. Stick with OEM and you'll be happy.

Sound like good numbers.

My motor Is the JDM one and the compression is a little higher.

So for saftey I thought I sould go with a gasket that will lower my comp.

I was looking for some advise about thicker gaskets like the cometic. I comes in .074 I belive it is almost 3 times thicker than my stock one. And if that would be good on my turbo charged civic.

Exactly what i'd like to know. I wanted to get the cometic to drop teh compression to 9:1 and use ARP head bolts. The motor is stock otherwise.

all abt preference. if you feel you need to lower the compression with a bigger hg then do it. at the end of the day its wat makes you happy and feel comfortable in the car.

Well i haven't tried anything yet, so nither is making me more comfortable. I can only make up my mind depending on what feedback i get. I'm a bit sceptic about running stock HG, it leaves my compression at 10.2:1 and in a daily driver i could get a bad tank of gas and then what? So i'm thinking that i might be safer with a lower compression, but i can't judge on the relayability of the cometic HG.
So what should i do? Stock motor, arround 230-240whp daily driven and maybe tuned on a high boost at 280-290whp.

quit being rediculas....

have you seen the highest hp stock block thread ?

there are people pushin these engines and getting decent life span from them. now im not saying go out and try to make 600 on a stock longblock.

but i do know from personal experiance, you can push these suckers to at least 330hp everyday. rev the ***** off it, and it loves it.

engines love boost.(period)

OEM head gasket for sure... The thing alot of people don't realize is, when you change to a thicker, or thinner head gasket, it throws your timnig out so only way to compensate for it correctly is adjustable cam gears if you wanna get the base timing right

That is a good point about the timming I had not thought about. If you mill the head I wonder if you would have timming issuse as well.

Well asuming that the compression isn't a problem, should i still keep the stock head studs? I'm not really sure if that's a good idea. And about the stock block thread, i got pissed at because i mentioned that noone is mentioning for how long do those motors keep running.
