trans id searched...how 1st gear?
OK, so I wanna positively "id" this not-so-new trans I got.....L3-1xxxx......I've read the FAQ post about counting the revolutions, etc., thanks Tyson, but how do I make sure the trans is in 1st gear when the trans is out of the car?............Thanks in advance.......

you wont reall have to make sure, when it is pulled usually the shifter is in neutral or its hard to disconnect the shifter. Other then that you have to open the case and see which shift shaft is engaged
think of the shift lever.
to put in first, find neutral where you can rotate the shaft freely in the middle position, then turn counter-clockwise and pull back, out.

Thanks guys, but I got antsy and put it back in already........My best guess is that it is a STD or Hf 5spd trans, 'cause the driveshafts were spinning inside the new Si hubs......Did STD even come in 5 spd?.............Thanks Again.......
