Got a b18b ls boosted. Getting a lot of smoke from exhaust. Did comp. test #1 180 #2 171 #3 180 #4 180. Plugs are burning clean light grey no build up or sign of oil. Smokes mostly after boost or when cold. But it is not constant. Also get a lot of what looks like ashes on the rear of my car. Any help would be great. Could my seals on my turbo be blown. T04e .50 trim.

 

dark black smoke? I could be wrong but as long as its not blue your ok. Sounds like your running rich.

 

not dark black. It is like grey. Smells like fuel not burnt oil. but my oil level is going down. about a quart every 2000 miles. Funny because started right when I installed turbo. Also was not aware i had to prime it. But no leaks from either side of the turbo. Will a restrictor help!!!!!

 

turbo seals is my vote

 

same thing happend to mine, blew the seals on the turbo, a restrictor is not going to make the problem go away, just going to help it just a lil, but prolly still smoke, i know mine did, i just replaced the turbo, could be your valve seals too

 

get a restrictor anyway. it might just be masking the problem now but you can still use it in the future

 

turbo seals mine did the same thing smoked just after boosting and loss of oil i'd get a new turbo.
