Low compression can't really hurt, but I don't think its necessary. JDM B16As are in the 10.4:1 range which isn't that crazy

 

people boost their stock b16's and make 300+whp all the time. sure if you want to make lots of power lower compression wont hurt it.

True dat.

I say go with lower comp forged internals so you can boost more, but it all depends on your goals.

I don't know offhand what stock B16a internals can handle but if you don't plan on going over that then just boost it the way it is.

 

High compression + turbo = high EGT's

Low compression + turbo = lower EGT's

Reliabitlity is based on the tune

 

10.4 is fine just get it tuned (NO FMU) hell my comp is 10.8 and im turboing that bitch!
