trick question, I know.
But is anyone making 300whp with only 5psi?
6?
7?

Please post your setup.....!

It is possible with high enough compression. However the higher the compression the smaller the tuning window. It is smarter to run lower compression and higher boost.

10:1 - 8:1 will be a difference of like 1 psi for an exactly the same setup setup. Compression doesn't make much of a difference.
I would wager somebodies race car - Courtney Green, Jason Pennman, Buck02, etc would do 300 at the lowest boost. Buck made 515 WHP at 14 pounds of boost. Green has a bigger turbo, so I can only imagine what it would do at lower boost. Same goes for Pennman.

its not from 8:1 to 10:1
the test was done from 9:1 lower comp and 10:1 almost stock comp, it only netted 10hp.
lower comp just lowers the chance for detonation thats all, and lets you run more boost

My point was he made it sound like you'll make the same power on 10:1 and 7 psi as you would on 9:1 and 10 psi, or some big difference like that, and I was saying that isn't true.

You gotta remember that even though anyone can make good numbers at low psi levels doesn't mean **** if it takes so and so rpm to make it.
These turbo's some of these guys are running to make that power at such low psi leves are really meant for high hp and high boost levels to really make them shine and create a good powerband.

yea buck made the 519 on pump gas to, i think he has a gt40
cort makes like 450 on pump on the old setup w/ pump gas. im sure its more now
and im sure jasen is right in that area
tyler is running a h22a if im not mistaken?

Re: who is making 300whp with the lowest amount of boost? (Timmay)
I guess I am always learning.
I was under the impression that you would make the same amount of power on a 11.5:1 at lower boost as you would a 8.5:1 at higherboost. Difference of about 4psi.
Just that due to detonation, it is much easier to tune at lower compression ratios.

A friend of mine on this board was running a 7.8:1 B16A, and it made the same power as a 10.5:1 B16A with about a pound and a half more boost, plus the added timing. The difference from 11.5:1 to 8.5:1 might be 2 pounds at best, just too bad you're limited to maybe 10 pounds of boost on the 11.5:1 motor.
