Default 9. Compression Rev Hard K20A2

I don't know much about turbos because I've been N/A my whole life. I picked up a K20A2 and I'm trying to by a RevHard turbo. Here's my question, it's about compression, I was told that the stock compression is way to high and for me to bring it down to 9, is there any info on this. I've searched and got nothing.

it gets complicated in detail, but usually higher compression on boost will need higher octane gas and a stronger motor(built) or it will burn up fast. lower compression will allow more boost on pump gas a can be done on a better safety margin. alot depends on turbo size for the amount of flow, more flow equals less boost same power. lowering your compression and putting in forged pistons and rods in is always good, but you can turbo the motor in stock form.

all depends on power u want to make, if only want 300-350 u dont have to touch anything.

So should I get forged pistons and rods although I'll primarily be stock or should I leave the motor as is? I still want to be able to rev till about 7 or 8 but that wouldn't be safe with stock internals right?

I want to daily drive on about 5psi but good power is a must. I was guess that I would bring down the compression and built the internals slightly. That way I could still get a decent sized rev out of it but not have to build the motor too much. Am I on the right track?

if all you want to push is 5psi you will be fine as long as the tuner knows what their doing. what size turbo? there are so many horror stories of people getting their cars tuned and the motor blows because a lack of tuning knowledge on the k motors versus the b series. just remember the more you push or romp on the car the more stress your exerting on the stock components. forged parts are only as good as the tune. no neccesary but nice to have are egt, afr gauges, boost is a must so add those into your budget. i currently run boost and afr. soon to get an egt gauge.

Here's a look at what I'm planning on picking up. It's either a stage two or a stage one, it doesn't take much to make me happy:
