Default LIGHTENED FLYWHEEL DECISION:::HELP:::FOR DEL SOL

hey ht members..
im debating on buying a flywheel...this is for a daily driver but i sometimes like to race with it for fun..im picking up the exedy clutch but i dont know which flywheel...
i've always had the act streetlite flywheel but i want to try something different since the car is mostly daily drive...is the F1 better or the FIDANZA flywheel with the combo of the exedy clutch?

thanks

this is what i have in mind:

::exedy clutch

::F1 RACING X-LITE Chrome-Moly Flywheel(8.5lbs)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...QrdZ1

::FIDANZA ALUMINUM FLYWHEEL(7lbs)

The XACT streetlite flywheel will be better for DD than the lighter ones you mentioned. I believe the streetlite is 10lbs? Heavier is better for DD i say this based on industry data and discussion that a heavier flywheel store more inertia than a lighter one. The Xact one is chromoly steel, unlike the fidanza which is aluminum; the chromoly steel should be a bit stronger than the alu one i would think. If you've always used an XACT streetlite in the past why not continue to do so?

so that eliminates the fidanza because its aluminum...so what do you guys think about the F1 RACING X-LITE Chrome-Moly Flywheel(8.5lbs) ..its 100% steal...if this doesnt work out than ill just get the XACT one...hahahha...

thanks chrisw85

I would not rule out the fidanza. I used one in my built integra, and i drove that everyday there for awhile. With an exedy clutch and that 8lb flywheel it felt almost stock, except the reved alot faster. I plan on using another one for the Ek when the time comes. Another plus to the fidanza is the friction material is replaceable. Great flywheel for a great price.

I like the fidanza flywheels, but I hate exedy clutches, get an ACT.

ok..i guess fidanza is still in the game...since it is aluminum..does it wear down faster?

i have an 8.6 lb flywheel in my 95 Civic Ex, no complaints. I would have put the Fidanza 7 lb flywheel in my car, however, im planning on boosting in the future and i wanted somethin a little heavier in order to retain the inertia longer. lighter flywheels ftw

If you are dd dont look past the jdm type-r flywheel...its just as light and strong..you should be able to find one for under the price of the aftermarkets..
