I want to know whats the rev limit on a JDM D15B.

 

it would all depend on your ecu wouldnt it?

the motor doesn't control the rev limit your ecu does
for ex. i have a stock D15b7 rev limit was 6200rpms, i turbo charged it..and had to get my ecu chipped and tuned to run the engine right, now the rev limit is at 8000rpms....my friend also boosted his car but had it set for 9500rpms

...with a stock p28, i believe it is set around 7200rpms, not 100% sure
if you realy want to know then get in your car, start it up, leave it in neutral and bounce it off rev limit

Yeah but with that theres the risk me blowin the ****** up. What i understood was making the needle bounce meant a thrown rod with the quickness.

 

7200 redline, 7500 fuel cut I believe...

 

yea, but depending on which ecu you got in the car will tell you what the rev limiter will be. i dont see a stock d15b making any power past 7200. correct me if i'm wrong

 

So what your saying is if i basically set my rev limit to...............lets say 9000 rpm.........the motor will simply keep revving? No, its gonna pop some way or another!

Guys my goal is to get the most power out of my RPM's when racing ****** on the street. (and im quite aware im rockin a SOHC, but my motor aint no chump )

 

i got a d15b in my hatch, and i agree it aint no chump! but if a motor doesnt make power a certain rpm point theres not point in goin past that. unless you got internals or FI

Jeez, so much complexity.

Redline is 7200 RPM
Fuel Cut is 7500 RPM

That's on a stock P28 ECU, which is for a D16Z6 motor. The D16Z6 can handle 7200 RPM safely. The JDM D15b could probably handle 7200 safely as well. I wouldn't go above that though. Maybe 7k flat if you wanna be really safe.

It shouldn't matter though, b/c if there was no rev limiter, you could probably hit 8 with no thrown rods.

That problem doesn't come from hitting it for 1 second before you shift, it comes from holding it there (valve float, etc.).

If you're running a JDM D15b I'd shift AT the redline (7200).

The power runs through 7, but if you wanna keep it safe shift there.

If you wanna shift later you're going to need some work.
