? for FMU users
i know that timing has to be retarded when using an FMU, but how do you determine how much. working with a friend of mine's b16 running 8-10lbs on an FMU setup and we are trying to determine how to retard timing at the distributer. any help would be great and dont tell me trash the FMU cuz it's not mine. thanks guys.
FMU users are few and far between. Mostly because they're engines last a few days and they spend most of their time rebuilding and trying over.
FMU's are ok if you don't run a lot of boost. I bought my first turbo kit in 2002 when everyone was running FMU's. I drove the car with a stock b18c and it was fine. Inline Pro used to tune Hondas on the dyno with the FMU, 440's , thick headgasket, and an AFC. All of which are honda-tech no-no's. There is a stock block LS/vtec around here that is tuned that way and he runs 11's. Set-up is about 2.5 years old if I remember correctly.
There have been just as many blown motors on poor dyno tuning as FMU's.

Like the Proffessor said. It's not what you have, it's what you do with it.
