Default I HAVE SEARCHED but have more questions

I've read a few billion archived posts on VSS problems. I have a 95 civic with the stock d16z6. The speedo used to jump and now just no longer work but will RARELY and i do mean rarely jump to like 50-60ish mph then back down. This is more than likely a vss problem yes? If so just clean it with some spray electric cleaner (not break cleanear as it eats stuff) and then put some dioelectric grease on it and plug the sucker back up? THanks for any positive response and boo on anyone who hates because I want to be very sure before I do something to my car. (pic for views)

edit to add crap my tard butt forgot. the tach still works flawlessly, no CEL at all

but if a new cluster can fix this i'd love to find and off the wall odd ball cluster to have in there for something different, anyone with some ideas on that?
the car is apart right now so anything that takes time is of little consequence

i grabbed another cluster and put the whole speedo dial into the cluster. only combined them because one had tach, the other didn't.

try cleaning it, but if that dosent work just get a new VSS from the dealer and go from there.

my spedometer would stop working and all of the sudden work... once in a while it'll act all crazy. sometimes i get a check light regarding the sensor but it would go away once i restart the car. i cleaned my vss and all that but same problem. down the road i decided to put a gsr cluster and never had the problem again. try a diffrent cluster

First thing you should do is unplug the harness from the VSS and check the pigtail. Make sure all the pins are still in there as the will become corroded and break apart! If they are all there, check the VSS itself. Make sure all the pins are there also.

my speedo jumped for a long time, then would sometimes work and sometimes not, then crapped out all together in my 95 EX coupe. Grabbed and LX Cluster, problems solved. The tach on the old one still worked and no CEL. Only other problem was the temp gauge was screwed in the old cluster too.

Speaking of which anyone want an EG LX cluster? . It won't fit in my EK.
