Default will my 1995 civic operate without a cluster?

i am going to try to fix my speedometer, i was wondering if since my speedo doesnt work i could start the process off by removing my cluster but i probably cannot finish the job tonight. if i need my car in the morning will it work without the cluster or should i just wait till i have more time?

If you have a CEL code for the VSS, the speedometer is probably not the problem.

The car will run without the cluster, but I don't recommend it.

Why dont you go and take it out then see if the car starts. Im guessing it will. But seriously you can take the cluster out of your car in 5 minutes.

driving with out your cluster sounds like a really bad idea ...

i heard you can fix your speedo by just unpluging and plugging it back in , in some cases

It'll run fine, but good luck if you get pulled over and cop sees no cluster. Btw, I don't believe the turn signals work without it.

take the bezel out, but if you need to put the cluster in, it's like 2 bolts and the plugs. 5 minutes tops.

Also check speedo sensor on tranny, if your speedo is going whacko-crazy when you drive.

Edit: ^ that's also another 5 minute diagnostic.
