Default 9005 Headlight Conversion Question: HELP!

So far i have completed each step except being able to remove the guides inside the lightbulb socket, I do not have a dremel, so please advise me on what to do. What did you guys use to remove the guides. Please post any suggestions. Here is a picture of the guides.

Ok, I just used a soldering iron and was able to melt away the guides. I tried to clean it up on the inside but still some crap left in there. I installed them and they light up properly, but since it is day time I will be able to tell the difference. Now I have one more question:

-Have there been any problems with this conversion? Melting the Sockets and applying any damage to the stock wiring harness, If so, i will go back to the stock light bulbs, i do not want to have a messed up lighting system on a NEW car.

i doubt there will be any problems.
what kind of bulb are you using.
stock ones are like 60 and that is considerably less than the 90W blue bulbs
peolple use the high *** wattage bulbs on integras w/no problem so you should be ok

I used a small file and just filed those things out. Only took me about 5 min per bulb. Very easy.

I just bought 9005 sockets and wired it in so its easier to change next time when a bulb burns out

I used my swiss army knife to just cut the center thing out. Worked really well.

I also just wired in some 9005 sockets instead of messing with the bulb.

you can also widen the slot in the 9006 harness to accept either 9005 or 9006 bulbs w/o modding them.

All i did was just stuff it in. It stays in pretty snug and tight. No cutting or anything. just jam it in.

What about using the NAXOS 9005 100W bulbs for the conversion?

Will I fry my harness?
