today i went to downshit hard on 2nd gear as i proceeded to shift into 3rd my motor just starts bouncing of the tach eratically, i released the gas pedal to decel but it was still full throttle, i look down at my gas pedal and noticed that its still floored, i used the toe of my shoe to retract the pedal and its still reving eratically, i put the car in neutral and its still reving, then i tap the throttle once more then it stops. i seriuosly thought i was going to break something! it reved hard for a good 10 seconds. i want to eliminate this problem completely, because 5 miinutes later i tested it to see if it will occur and it did, i just left it 3rd and let it climb to redline, sure enough the gas pedal was not retracting, same thing happened again. its a very dangerous problem, i need to fix it a.s.a.p. someone please tell me exactly whats going on here and what parts i need to replace to completely cure me of this curse. i cant even floor my car now because i worry about the the gas pedal getting stuck with a wall in front of me.

 

Have you checked your throttle body and throttle cables? Thats the first thing i would check.

 

will get those replaced, but i dont understand how a throttle cable and throttle body would cause the gas pedal to stick...theres gotta be more parts to replace?
