2000 accord code p1129d the engine stalled
Does any one want to play guess the problem?
Had an interesting one today: The customers complained that the cel came on and the engine stalled. It started right back up and he drove it to us.
I got in and pulled the code p1129 (map sensor high voltage). Started it up and it ran like a corncob and would barely rev over 3000 rpms.
What do you think the problem was? (hint: it wasn't the map sensor)

Ew, no. LOL
Luckily i've never seen anything worse than dog food filling em up, but not on this one. There's no obstuctions getting air into the engine.

I'm a dealer tech. Key on, engine off, the map and baro sensors showed the same voltage.
Ive seen 3 bad map sensors in the last 16 years. They dont go bad very often so i'm sceptical when i see a code for one.

Thankyou, still have more to learn though.

Anyway, the problem was the timing belt. The cam timing was so far off we couldn't believe it ran at all. Whoever installed the belt on it over tightened it severely causing this damage:
With a new belt, pump and tensioner it ran like a new car.
