hey i got a ef and i cant make up my mind too either go ls vetch or just build up the b18a1. hard decision for me so help me out thanks

 

They are the same motor only with a VTEC head. So I am not understanding. Build up the B18A/B bottom end and when you get money you can put a VTEC head on it.

well is it worth it putting the head on or just doin internals on the b18a1, like what would i get more power out of and what is less chance of blowin up haha

 

id just get a ls. then save awhile and turbo it

 

dude totally go with the ls/vtec! if rocks, i just finished converting my b18a to ls/vtec useing the b16 head, i ran a 14.83 in the quater in my crx and thats without many mods, im in the process of having my b16 head completely built, and then i'm going to build the bottom end in about two months. you can always do the ls/vtec later so go ahead and build the bottom end and then turbo, then do the ls/vtec...theres so many different ways to go. if you got questions send me message, i could lead you step by step.

What are your overall plans with the car? What is your technical experience? How much do you intend to lay out overall?

take out the sleeves from the b18a, put them in the b16 head with vtec combustable retainers and you'l be set to run.
