lets see if I understand what all your questions are...
__________

Doing a auto-to-manual swap on a 4th Gen Accord

Read the write up on CB7Tuner for the 4th Gen and on AD for the 5th Gen Accord but I still have some questions.

1. Besides the brake pedal and the tranny mount in the two different gens (4th & 5th), what are the differences in doing an auto-to manual swap on a 4th gen compared to doing it on a 5th gen?
2. Does the upper clutch assembly require the sleeve behind the dash like the 5th gen?
3. Does the master clutch assembly require the two nuts as spacers to attach inside cabin on the firewall?
4. The shifter wiring between the two gens, including the one post that cp[mike] did, all seem to differ to me (this confuses me the most).
5. The CB7Tuner auto-to-manual write up says something about unpluging the clutch assembly connectors and tieing in black wires. There are no wires to the connector. Are they speaking if the wires were pulled with the assembly at a junkyard? Should visit a junk yard and get these connectors for the clutch assembly?
6. The 5th gen doesn't include a 30amp relay, is it really necessary for the 4th gen?
7. The wiring diagram from the manual (book) shows that pin I connects to everything. Do i actually splice in everything with I? I observed cp[mike]'s post but I can't tell if they are all tied in, or just taped together to keep them out the way.
8. I will be using a 5th gen tranny mount. So on the drivers side I am to use 3/8" worth of washers to level out the motor right?
9. Am I to completely remove the throttle cable? Since I assume the manual doesn't require the throttle cable to the tranny correct?
10. Also, are there any steps that any of you ran into that you can share will help? I am not really mechanically inclined so I am trying to learn and save myself some money by doing this myself.
_________

ok, thats what I got out of reading that thread on CB7T. If I'm wrong, I'm sorry but some of your questions were sorta hard to follow. But I thought I would try and help specify your questions into something a little easier to read.

Edit:
spelling

yes, touringAccord, you got it. i just didn't number my questions. sorry. i have only changed out my rear subframe that required me to mess with suspension parts so this swap will be challenging for me compared to my subrame which didn't require wiring. i am no mechanic but i figure i can familarize myself with my car and learn by doing this myself. therefore i just need very very clear instructions is all i am getting at.

i like the detail of the 5th gen write up so basically my question is where do the two gens differ because i would perfer to follow it considering it mor detailed. the write up for the 4th gen is vague compared to the one on accordinglydone that it looses me.

oh yeah. and thanks TouringAccord for you help with my suspension problem. You helped me a few months ago with this thread https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1658852

with the exception of getting her aligned. she seems to be okay. my steering wheel isn't center though because of the way i reconnected the steering column back to the rack & pinion but thats an easy fix. just unbolt, straigten the wheel and rebolt again.

no problem.

I'm not sure if you've looked at it already just for some more referrences but...
How To: Auto to 5spd Swap **Lots of Pics**
It's for the 5th gen, but I think I remember reading something about referrences to the 4th gen a few times or something. May be worth reading through real quick anyway, it's pretty detailed.

Unfortunately though, I've never done a auto-to-manual swap before so I don't have much else to give you in the way of help.

Best of luck, hope you find the info your looking for.

yes doing my own suspension repair definitely saved me some work. and yes, the link you gave is one of the write ups i filed away and is the one i am referring to vs. the 4th gen write up. i am gonna print the 5th gen write up out and hopefully it will be the same. i am just using the 4th gen brake pedal and i am doing the tranny mount trick that i learned over on cb7. doesn't required welding or redrilling. i can use the 5th gen accord or 4th gen prelude mount on the tranny and use several washers on the drivers side mount to level out the engine. i have researched this swap for a good year while collecting my parts. now that i am down to the wire and studying the write up in more detail is what brung on my concerns. but overall the two gens appear to be very similar.
