I've done search's, and even posted a similar questions in another forum of H-T but haven't come up with much info. Was wondering if anyone in here could give me some info on the difficulty of the swap as compared to that of the 5th Gen. swap. Someone in the other forum told me about a website http://www.h22a.org but they only have info on 4th & 5th Gen swaps. I have a 95 Accord EX currently but I like the way the 98 Sedans look and was wondering how difficult of a swap it is?

Stick with the 5th Gen cars. Even though they are older, they are lighter and handle better. IMO, the 5th Gen is the best yet.

Don't get me wrong, I love the 5th gen. I love the looks, it handles great and I have lots of plans for the car. I was just wondering how difficult it would be if I wanted to make an all race Accord out of a 6th gen, sort of like touring cars in Europe.

Of course it can be done. I have seen a few shops on the internet that do it. I also saw a video on hondasociety of some dude that just did it in his automatic

Go there and check the 6th generation accord forum you will find his posts about it.

I like the way the 6th generations looks as well. Mine is a family car, so a turbo would just do the job.

Edit: Besides, Honda-Tech is the best forum I've found so far and I spend most my time(at work ) on this forum than any other. What can I say, gotta do something at work right!

Unless you can do the work yourself it will be much better to just buy a lude.

The motor you should be using is a 98+ USDM motor since it will be better to keep the car OBDII and with a newer motor. Those swaps run around $3,500-4,000. Labor will expensive, more than a 90-97 and you may have problems since there aren't many done and shops are learning.

You should be able to trade up to a lude for much less than. With 90-97 that is usually not the case.

I would be doing the swap myself. I'm not going to pay someone to do the swap into the 6th gen when I can just do the swap into my 95 EX myself. Thats why I was asking how difficult it is compared to the 5th gen swap. But, like you said, because not too many people have done the swap before there isn't much info. As for the lude, I was going to get a 98 Type SH but it was too expensive at the time so I got a 95 EX Sedan. Now I really like the look and practicallity of four doors. But thanks for the opinion.

It shouldn't be that much more complicated than a swap into the 5th gen. I'm going to be doing it. I just got side tracted in the process (started building my h22 first). Only thing I have heard of being a problem is the fact that both 98+ accords and 97+ preludes have immobolizers. Except their two different systems. So the ECU from an h22 won't work with the 98+ accord's ignition system's immobolizer. I ended up sending my h22 ECU to a guy who programmed the immobilizer out of the ECu so I don't have to worry about it anymore....only, I ended up buying a full standalone so I don't have to worry about it at all anymore.

btw, if you want my ECU, I'll sell it to you if you decide this route.

For furure reference, can you tell us who programmed the immobilizer out of the ECu and for how much?

One of the guys who swapped my motor who has a 98 h22 into a 99 Hb said that he has never seen the immobilizer by passed and still have the car run right.
