Default Mis-shift question

Hey guys, I know this sounds noobish but I recent mis-shifted in a race. I have a gsr motor w/ intake, headers, exhaust, skunk2 manifold, and skunk2 ecu. I freken mis-shifted 4th gear and hit either 95k or 9k.....

Anyways, the car is still running, no smoke whatsoever. To me, it feels as though as the car is a bit laggy because its the first time I missed a gear that hard but to others, they say its running fine.

Am I just paranoid? What could be the possible damage?
If it is a bent valve, would it be hard to check if it is?

I'm not an expert in these matters, but you probably should have a compression test done.

If you bent exhaust valves, the engine would not idle well and would havbe reduced low-end power. The compression test will provide a definte answer.

thanks for the input guys... my car idles like it is suppose to. For sure ill do a compression test. What do you guys think could be the problem? Fried a piston ring?

Also, an off-topic question, do you think skunk2 procam1's are good for boost?

its prolly just you man, you had to do much worse than that to bend valves and cause damage to the engine, it wouldn'y hurt to do a compression test but i doubt that you did any thing to cause any kind of bad thing to happen since the motors on our cars have REV limiters on them for that purpose, to keep you from doing damage to internals, you never know though, go with your gut i guess

Shouldn't the engine cuts off when reve limt is exceeded?

u can never be too sure.
i missed a shift going from 3rd to 4th in my LS, accidently slammed it into second..
not good.. my engine rev'ed to hell for maybe a split second..
i thought all was good. maybe a month later, new motor was needed.

the thing is I have the skunk2 ecu, so I have no limiter. It revs freely but I'm not suppose to hit like 9500 or 10k or even anything above 8500. Is it hard to check if you have bent valves? What could be another reason?

you should really look into an ECU with rev limiter, everyone misses a gear sometime.DO a compression test but i belive youll be ok.
