Default S2K and piggybacks/hacks

I'm unsure if there has already been a topic on this, but what would you guys suggest and this is to be more of a pro and con for each system.....feel free to say what you know and suggest. I just started writing a paper on SAFC and it looks scary for what little readings it gets. Anyways happy motoring .

I would never use a piggy back system. EMS is the way to go, more options if you get a good tuner.

if you can't wait to get a standalone, emanage ultimate is good.

The way I see it
You can afford a 40k car but cant pay the extra $400 for a real engine managment system???
The extra $400 is nothing compared to a new engine....

Does HonData work on the s2k? I'm close to scoring a 2001 in yellow/blk for $12.4k soon. Inquiring minds want to know!

I haven't looked into it for a while, but isn't it possible to rig an ECU to be modified via USB cable so it functions similar to a standalone? When I read this it was regarding the RSX and older Civic models.

I ask because some piggybacks are good compaird to others.....I havent looked at the ems yet so I'll check that out . Im just wondering because Im doing a research paper on SAFC and got interested in compairing other systems. I hear hondata is the best for honda applications.....I havent read much on that eather . I'm probably going to get EFI 101 training after I finish college so I can tune, thats why I'm curious. Thanks again and if theres others or better ones just lt me know!!

kpro is the hondata ecu for the new civic SI and acura RSX - any "k-series" powered honda.

Man if you didnt like that then dont go in for a complete re-wiring job on your s2k like I am doing to mine (completely removing all abbs/softop/emessions from wiring harness while relocating battery/fuse box under dash where ac/heater core was and re running headlight wires through fenders) we are looking at around 40 hours minimum just in wiring

just be lazy like me and get the aem ems for 1300$ shipped
Why it over hondata?
hondata k pro costs 1000$
the ecu costs 200$
and add in about 10 hours of wiring that you have to go through all schematics to figure out what the hell you are doing as there are no ez how-2's on this deal

Amazingly I find wiring easy now, its just finding the best place to put it all thats annoying lol. Useing a scematic is only part of what you really have to know, so the rest is finding the best place to splice or get to what your after. I havent done my own harness yet but I can see what you guys mean when its out of the car and trying to piece it back together lol. Anyways I'll look at EMS when I get to that . Thanks guys!
