Default Stand Alone Engine Management

All this hype about Hondata with boost option for turbo and supercharger. what is better. FAST standalone or Hondata or even Motec M4 standalone is Hondata even considered a standalone or wanna be. any info would help?

Good advice. I don't care how good or how many features a certain standalone computer has, if you don't know how to use it you're not going to get very far. I'm bias towards Speed Pro (FAST). Very easy to become familiar with and has been proven to make the power. Hopefully we'll be using it on a twin turbo 318 soon

the motec m4 is $$$ but is top notch ... the FST is very GOOD for the do it yourself tuner, very user friendly and you can do wonders.

get the sequential FAST not the B2B, much better make sure you get the wideband option too, does wonders...

I think viren (b18b turbo) has one for sale from his car ...

Also guys the autronic should be mentioned in this bunch. I think the autronic is as good as m4 or m48 motec. I think there CDI is even better than the motec unit. They cost half as much.

Right now i am doing deal on them for 1499 for SMC and smc2 is 1799 both come wiht autotune options this is the way to go.

For the dollar worth, Autronic is the way to go... Since it is all Motec based, and then some, you cant beat what you get...

If any 1 is looking for 1, at a good price, drop me a IM...

Autronic is a better system then motec in my opion. The entry level smc is equal to the m4 motec and the sm2 is above and beyond. http://www.dynospeed.com

Almost forgot about Autronic there. I had gotten the software for it and went through it to get familiar with it. Almost bought it but there isn't a competent tuner around my area that knows how to tune the Autronic. I was going to go with the SMC unit, very nice system for the price. It does have an option for a wideband, but it's an aditional cost. The autotune function is nice though. I talked with a distributer for them and he mentioned that they make a plug and play harness for the SMC for obd1 vehicles.

Are you a dealer? If I get one from you, and I ever have trouble wiring it up or tuning it, do I call you for tech support? Or is there another dealer who you get it from that could help me?

i get it staright form them tune it is simple and i learned from scratch from the software they have given us. Very awesome stuff. you can order one today. if you would like. ITs like any standalone you have to wire it up and it usually takes about a good day and helms manual to get it all right.

On the Autronic, which is better, the SMC or SMC2?

Which is better between the FAST system and the AEM EMS?

Hmmm.. since the Hondata isn't a standalone I guess it's a "stand-by-itself" or maybe it's a "not a sub computer" or may be it's a "tune-it-yourself" or something like that.

I know alot of people using autotronic in the HOT rod class. And Raphy at DRT runs the AEM on his race car. I dunno, just an idea.

Can't say much for AEM, but many endurance racing cars and rally cars have won championships with Autronics. I know a shop in So Cal that only installs and tunes Autronic efi systems, and they have proven the worth of every single system in the most harsh environments possible.....Road race, rally, drag race, sand rails, etc.....ZERO FAILURES!!!!!!
