I got a swap done a few years back. B16a 2 gen with a type r tranny. The tranny took a **** last week, And i need a ring gear now. But I'm not sure what year the tranny is. How can i find out what year gear i need? I have the number on the trans but i don't think you can tell by this?
please any help?

 

should be all the same i think..... but ne way if its a usdm tranny and still has a vin # all u gotta do is count the 10th letter or number on the vin and that will tell u the year.

 

I got one number off the tranny but it's 6 numbers. Is there a 10 diget vin # on the tranny too?

If it's an OEM one that came in one of the cars off the lot. If it has been replaced by the dealer, or is a JDM engine it will not have the vin tag. What is the 6 digit number you came up with?

 

The only number on there is 306377. Is there another way too tell the year? Would counting the teeth on the gear help?
