I REALLY hate to do this...
...but I feel ripped off, and honestly, more like disrespected.
You may remember this thread https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1783413 where GO FIGHT KILL needed a clutch. I gladly dug up an old ITR clutch I had laying around that I probably didnt need and offered it to him for FREE as long as he covered shipping. Shipping ended up costing around $10, and he offered to throw in an extra $10 for my troubles. No problem, I had the clutch in the mail within like 2 days.
He receives the clutch shortly thereafter, installs it, and is grateful and happy. I expect a check in a few days. Nothing arrives.
Ive been told numerous times "the check is in the mail". Weeks go by, nothing. Apparently the first check was supposedly lost in the mail. He said he would send another one. I asked him to get a delivery confirmation just to be safe. Days go by again, nothing. I PM him a few times, he finally gets back to me saying he didnt get around to it. OK fine, not a huge deal so he says it will go out the next day or so. Days go by, nothing. Ive sent him a PM while he has been online, and he hasnt responded, yet he has replied to his own post with his new pics of his car. So now he appears to be avoiding the issue.
Bro, if you know me, you know I hate to stoop to this level. Anyone here will tell you that. And granted its only $20 or so, but thats a full tank of gas for me for the week and 20 less dollars out of my pocket. But its not even about the money. Its about me helping someone out, taking the time out of my busy schedule (even cutting my limited lunch break short just to get it out to you ASAP) to do something most people wouldnt even think of, to help a fellow member in the ITR community. I feel you owe it to me to show the same courtesy and return the favor. I would appreciate it if you sent me my check as soon as possible.

You have every reason to make this post. It just shows the character of the person you were helping. You did a favor for the person, offered to do it for free.. and now the guy rips you off of 20 bucks! Thats worse than scum.

For the record, I am NOT calling this person a scammer. He is probably just lazy. But its going on a month and a half. I offered the clutch to you on 10/16, and you replied saying you had it installed and running great on 10/22. That extra $20 could go a long way, especially this time of year.

i definitely remember that post.
its really quite sad that its over 20 bucks to that he is trying to "scam" you for. I mean shiet, 20 bucks is nothing if you really think about it, especially if you are giving him a free clutch which can at least be valued at 50 plus shipping if anything. but truly sad that he's not willing to cough up a measly 20.
he probably spends 20 a day by throwing gas in the car.

thanks for the heads-up.
i've dealt before with people who i genuinely believed never intended to scam me, but who seemed simply lazy or uninterested in holding up their end of the bargain upon receiving my provisions- thereby scamming me.
don't make promises which you don't intend to keep- however small, lest your reputation preceeds you later.

The OP is as courteous as anyone Ive seen that offered a helping hand and pretty much gotten a slap in the face. You defending this person and helping him pay the 20 dollars isnt helping him at all. If you know him, then point him to this thread and let him explain it himself. Any slander in this thread is well deserved because it is clear whos in the wrong here. BTW, hes got his own thread showing pics of his ITR, which is prob running thanks to RTW's generosity.

interesting situation
i'd say the biggest thing here thats lacking is common decency on the part of the guy who owes money. if someone went out of their way to do this for me i would have been red hot on getting them the money ASAP with a little sweetner as thanks. bit naughty to leave it this long

for you, it's sad how most of the good people in the world seem to get taken advantage of nowadays.

hopefully it gets resolved shortly!
