What the hell is a heater bypass valve? You mean looping the coolant so it doesn't get to the heater core?

Maybe we should start from the beginning and find out why you don't want a heater in your car.

its the exact opposite, i have to install this bypass valve. my car didnt come with one and all i need for the heater to work is this part. i really would like to have heat as it is getting very cold in utah right now. i have the bypass valve which i picked up from a local junk yard, and i have the hoses, all i need to know is which hose it runs off of (left or right side), and if it matters how i mount it. thanks

The only other thing I can think of is that you have a thermostat in your hands. If you took one off at the junkyard, it shouldn't be so bad re-installing it.

no, its not the thermostat. but it is inline between the thermostat and the firewall. there are two hoses coming out of the firewall, i believe this bypass valve runs on the hose on the left, inbetween the firewall and the thermostat. i just need someone to confirm this, i just forget how it came off at the junkyard.
thanks for the help
