Default Prelude overheating, looks and sounds like a hose

my lude started overheating for some reason, i didnt know what the problem was until like 2 weeks after it started. its leaking water and when u look under the car its leaking in the upper right side of the motor. one day when it overheated i popped the hood and heard a hiss. can anyone tell me how much trouble it would be to change that hose and how much it would cost if i take it to a mechanic?

well, to check the hose it would be $0.00 if you did it.

if you bring it to a mech, who knows......

a hose is easy to do yourself..... if the hose is bad, buy a new one.....

Replace all your hoses if you one fails. It's easy, but can be extremely tedious for certain hoses....If you got the cash, have your mechanic do it. I did it a week back for my 5th gen and I definitely would not want to do it again. Ever.

Get the cooling system flushed too and you will be good for the next few years.

Just start the car up and see whats leaking. After you figure out the problem flush the radiator. Then replace the hose. Make sure you let the car cool alittle before draining the radiator otherwise you will make a mess and burn yourself. While you have the coolant out you should check all the other hose to make sure they are not bad. Change whichever are bad, fill the radiator, start the car up, add coolant if needed. Make sure you fill the overflow tank also.

There is a plug on the lower side of the radiator, just twist it off with your hand..Might take a little bit to find it, atleast it did for me my first time lolz..Once you find it and drain the coolant out, pop some hoses off to get rid of excess coolant..
