Default Fuel Pump Bad or Not, that is the question?

The other day my main relay that controls the fuel pump started to click and the car was cutting out. Then it wasnt getting fuel at all and the relay would only click once instead. The pump doesnt turn on at all now. At first I thought it was a flaw in my dx to mpfi wiring cause this is usually caused by a short in injector wiring but that wouldnt effect the pump? Anyone? I need help? Ichecked the grounds on the pump and changed the relay thanks for the info a head of time!

Are you sure the relay is good?

a bad ground at the thermostat will cause buzzing at the relay, but I would think it is the main relay there are tests for it or you could just swap out a freinds relay.

The relay was switched and everytime I would unplug the pump the buzzing would stop. It slowly started doin this so I thought the pump might be bad!

ok..i've been having the same problem...i've checked..double checked and tripple checked my wiring..replaced the relay 5 times...checked all my grounds..tried diff. ecu's...nothing...but this is what one of my guys at work said....just run a straight 12volt to the yellow-black wires on top of the tank uderneath your 'rear' seat....if you had the manual thats what the manual says to do so too..but at the relay harness..you pretty much use a jumper to see if the pump primes...so hope this helps..

that will definitely let you know whether or not the pump is bad.

i'm in the same boat, my car died at the track. now the pump won't prime, the engine will turn over but it won't start. also the CEL, stays on even when cranking the motor. i'll have a friend lend me his main relay, so i can check if it's the main relay or the fuel pump that's bad.

what CEL code are you throwing..? but yea if it died out of nowhere...start with the main relay..because sadly theres no CEL code for dead fuel pump...like mentioned above..if you have the manual..that'll show you where to jump the harness to override and force the fuel pump prime...

well i jumped the main relay harness, and got the pump to run. so i figured i would get a new main relay, to replace this faulty one. i got the new main relay, pluged it in, and no priming of the pump. the CEL is still lid solid, all the fuses are good, any ideas?
