Did you check around where the fender and the hood meet? Maybe something fell in there? Is the little hook snapping over?

there was nothing there, and it does hook initially but when you push the hood down to completely lock it wont.

I had my wife sit in the car and pull the hood lever and I tried closing it, when I pushed down I had her let go of the lever and it locked.

Not sure what the deal is but this aint cool. I just had the left fender replaced and repainted so they probably were messing with the hood. It started the night I got it out of the shop so I will call them in the morning.

Last time I saw this problem the cable for the hood to the lever had stretched so we'll see what it is.

Yeah, I think the shop might've done something wrong during install. I know my hood is jacked up and I have to slam it shut all the time. But that's because I'm an idiot and I left it unlocked and drove 65Mph on the eway.

I have a 00si and my hood wouldnt close too. Turns out the latch you pull out to pop your hood was out. For awhile I had to push it back in all the way before I closed the hood. So just check and see if your latch or whatever its called under your dash is all the way in or not.

You can try adjusting your hood latch by loosening the (3) 10mm bolts with a wrench and pull it a little higher and tighten it back down. This will raise the hood latch higher so making it easier for your hood to lock down.
