Default Simply B16 or B18???

Just one simple question I’m getting a del sol with an imminent engine swap in mind and a plan for a turbo and in your opinion should I go B16 or B18 I’m a mechanic by trade so its not a problem either way I just put a B16 in my friends EK so I know the basics thank for your time and Knowledge and please reply.

I agree K-series would be a nice swap for a delsol, but the price is $$$$$$$.

I'd definitely go B18 instead of B16 in a Delsol because of the heavy Delsol chassis; need that extra torque

i would say an ls out of a dc teg if your going to boost. they offer a already low compression ratio and are sturdy engines.

I'd go with the b18b, like someone said above, its got lower compression and it can take a beatin! You can also get one for cheap, so the money you save from the swap, you can spend on the turbo or something else.

good choice, and if want later you can put a vtec head on it... good starting point...

Del Sols' already have B16's in them. There's nothing wrong with a B16. here's what you do, tear the B16 out of it and buy a LS short block.. LS/Vtec it. it's not worth taking a already powerfull motor and putting in something that puts out less HP just to get a lil more torque, do LS Vtec cause a straight LS swap is a waste of money then throw some ITR cams into the B16 head like what i am using and run with a SC6152E turbo at 15psi and put down 413whp

you prolly wont want to run 15 lbs though it unless you plan on building and balancing it

LS Vtec gives you your high end and your displacment for winding over a bigger turbo

not all delsols have b16's, im assuming he'll buy a del slow and swap the motor. if he gets one with a b16 surely he would keep it (hopefully)...
