2000 Si Block

Default 2000 Si Block

My cylinder #4 has 2 pretty good size groves right in the cylinder walls, they're kind of deep, causing motor to burn oil. Is it pretty expensive to resleeve with a new stock sleeve since I only need to do one? I called around and not many shops can resleeve honda blocks. Am I better off buying a used one?

id say cheaper to buy a replacement.. might be a good time to upgrade to an LS or GSR block

put some darton sleeves in it and throw lots of boost to it!

I would probably just find another block and throw it in...

maybe you can get away with just an overbore. take it to a machine shop and see if that can be done.

my block is already over bore from 80mm to 81.5, can I still go a little larger? I was told that this is kind of max for stock bore on the B16A2.

uhhh stock is already 81mm. you can safely go to 82mm on the stock sleeves, unless you boost it then no way.

Thanks for the correction on the bore. I haven't been to focus on this car for the longest time. I forgot alot about this car. Here's a photo, do you guys think going to 82mm would clear the scratches? Thanks

Damn those look like a few mm's deep. What broke or got into the cylinders to cause that?

I'm not sure what caused it as I haven't pulled the pistons out to fully inspect it. I had to put the car back together the way it is as I need a winter car. The only thing I could think of is when I installed the piston rings, I may have ended up installing that one upside down instead. I was also running a supercharger on it and may have sucked up some small rock or metal.
