Default Valve Stem Seal Replacement, Valve Lapping Compound

Ok guys...i will be replacing the Valve Seals and i was reading that its a good idea to use Valve Lapping Compound when putting back valve stems. It helps to seat the valves. Ok...would anyone know where to get some? Im thinking NApa or something. Also...When putting back valve stem seals, is there a certain tool i should use or can i just push them on or something. Get back to me guys! Thanks

hold on a sec... valve lapping compund goes between the valve head and the seat, NOT the stem, keep it off there. I usually keep track of which valve came out of where also. Make sure you get all that compound cleaned up or it will quickly wear out whatever its on when the motor is running.

I use a socket to install the seal, make sure you don't forget to put the spring seats back in either before you pop on the seal.

sorry guys for my confusion...I sort of had two questions going on their. my bad.
1st question. Would you recommend using valve lapping compound to help seat the valves on the valve seats?
2nd question. IS there any quick tips to help me put the valve seals back on. Dont do this, do this...type of things.

Well i got some responses back. If anyone else would like to comment, jump in! thanks guys.

From what ive read some say Dont use valve lapping compound, and some say its ok. So its not necessary when putting back valves? I just thought it was a necessary thing to do when putting back valves on the head after taking them off for any reason ie Valve Stem seal Replacement. Thansk guys!

if u keep track of which valve goes where there is really no need to lap the valves.

lapping compound only shows you that you are sealing all they way around the seat..it doesnt grind a 45 in for you to give you seal.

i used a rubber hose that fit on the end of the valve and attached it to a drill
run the drill at slow speed and push the head of the valve against the head for a short time
continue doing this pressing action ill you feel it has grinded smooth
