Now, I want to swap out the complete JDM B16A1 head and replace it with a USDM B16A2 head for smog emission purpose. I was wondering if I can just do that adn leave the block alone? Do I have to switch our the piston or anything?

A B16A1 would be a 1st gen B16A with cable transmission from europe.

Look guys,
I know my motor. Trust me. when I place the B16A1 is to inform you guy that it's the First gen B16A. I know the diff between my B16A and B16A2. I am not gonna go into detail about B16A and B16A SIR-2 becuase I am pretty sure you guy also kjnow about that. So you can take all that "OWNED" somewhere else. I am just asking question about the heads.

Nothing about the heads are different except maybe the cams, unless all you are worried about is the markings on it from when it was produced. Just switch out the throttlebody and use a OBD2 dizzy.

Great!! Finally an answer.
so, basically I can just switch out the throttle body and put on a OBD2B Dizzy and I'll be back to USDM spec? Tell me it's that EASY PLEASE!

I don't want to thread jack, but for everyone's knowledge, where does the extra compression come from in the SIR II? It wouldn't make sense for the only differences to be the TB and dizzy. Unless whatever is different between the a and the a2 to cause the comp. difference won't effect emissions.
