Default good stock sohc headers

OK basically i'm looking for a downpipe portion to bolt onto my
stock exhaustmani.

i've got a jdm d15bvtec stock z6 header.
if you've ever looked at the merge collector on the stock header,
it's puny, I think it's like 1.5" or something!

Are there any stock downpipes from maybe another model that I can bolt up that would provide more flow? Or is modifying the stock one the only option?

Thanks

P.S.
Yes I know I could just get a completely new header,
that's not what this thread is about.

Y8 ftw, one question is first gen or second gen better? I have the first gen and the top part looks restrictive compared to the second gen.

well all I care about is the downpipe portion really..

probly gonna keep my z6 cast mani, just love the sound it gives. I think all that iron muffles/smoothes the exhaust tone

mine look just like those but w/o the rust. they look more like the ITR header just that mines for a single slammer

so you want to stick with your cast manifold???
i think you would get a little more from a full Y8 mani.

i'm sure the y8 mani would give me more.
but a full kamikaze style header with 2.5" collector/outlet would give me maximum gains.

If I do my motor build later on then i'll need that.

but yeah, i'll probably just stick with the cast 4 now..
and yes, I know it's insane, haha.

yeah, yours must be pretty new, or hasn't seen much weather,

that's an awsome header to have.
especially after looking at these pics I think the y8 header is really the jdm itr of sohc's!

ah, in the interest of open knowledge.
I just found out the y8 header actually only has a 1.5" outlet, just like the z6 header.

which is a bummer, you would need to do the same mod to the y8 downpipe as the z6

thanks for the link ekkkay, that's exactly what i'm planin on doin.
