Trouble with HIDS

Default Trouble with HIDS

i bought my 9006k HIDS back in August....had them for about a month and they started flickering....took them back to the place i got them installed at so they could look at them and just my luck they didnt even flicker!!.....they flicker while sitting still and driving...any suggestions as to what the problem might be???

If it's flickering and not working at some points i'd check the connection. There also might be a grounding issue. Otherwise it's probably a cheap ballast for an hid 'kit'. Thats why everyone says go with a retrofit using OEM parts instead of the plug and plays.

ya its definately a ballast problem i had the same exact thing happen to my pnp hid kit. send the whole kit back and theyll test it and replace whats not working

If they both are flickerin, then it is a ground issue. It may not have ENOUGH power to the ballast. You need to run a harness if you use HID.

well i was driving home from work today and when i went to turn my lights on my passanger light would not turn on...i had to turn them on/off 5-6 times before it came on...oh and another thing it seems that everytime i would go to shift they would flicker(maybe it was just me that was irritated by them) but i noticed that...gonna take them back thurs to see whats going on

All this makes me happy I didn't buy the HID 'kit' off of my friend. Retro OEM HIDs FTW! Looks 10x better than the kits. But for me, SC first, then HIDs. Stock lighting works, so I'm not messing with it until then.

this is why performance comes before looks. If you push 300hp no one cares if your headlights work haha.

Seriously though, that sucks, its always gotta be something that malfunctions when you're the only one around. Never at the dealer/manufacturer of the part.

true about the performance part, but i wanted some and got them for cheap......turned out the ballast had a problem and got them fixed....both ballast replaced

dont waste your time installing an "hid kit" that according to them has the same performance as "real hid on luxury cars".
Save money and try your own retrofit
