boost spikes in cold weather, GReddy Profec B 2, or mechanical problem?
Trying to diagnose a problem that feels like a boost cut, but having a hard time telling if it might be some kind of mechanical problem (clutch, trans, etc) or something with the BC. Settings listed below:
SET 32% = approx 15psi when I got tuned last time around, but during this cold weather where I seem to have noticed this issue, the PEAK was reading over 18 now.
GAIN 10%
SET GAIN 74
WARNING 18psi
LIMITER 5%
Ive tried to turn off the controller entirely, and dont seem to hit any sort of cut. However the BC seems to show a PEAK of around 18psi on the wastegate spring which doesnt make much sense considering its a 9lb spring. Before I had the BC setup, it would creep to around 12psi on the 9lb spring. So I cant see it spiking to 18 on the spring and Im wondering if anyone has any known issues with the BC not reading properly. I havent noticed any strange things with the tach (clutch slip) or speedo when trying to test different settings.
I tried to turn the boost way down to around 15%, that seems to show a PEAK boost of around 16psi which would be acceptable. However it still seems to hit the boost cut even though the WARNING is set to around 18psi and the BC does seem to be hitting 18 so Im confused why I would be hitting a cut. The "cut" that Im feeling feels like a slight vibration/flutter/stutter around full boost so I assume it is in fact a boost cut that I am experiencing (Ive never felt one before so not sure).
I know its difficult to diagnose here, but any other ideas on how to figure this out is appreciated.

dont know but im on a 14lbs and it spiked to 18 and my fuel cut off or something, it felt like i hit an invisible wall, ive heard the cold weather makes it spike, it was 40 degrees today. disconected the elctronic BC and set it to the 7lb spring and it still spiked to like 8lbs before i let the throttle go.
I keep hearing most people say when they hit a boost cut the car will feel like hitting a wall or jerk very hard. Mine is not doing that and is more subtle, possibly because Im only removing 5% boost when the LIMITER is reached?
You know boost cut when you feel it.
Kinda feels like a rev limiter per say. Kinda like hitting a wall like you said above.
If it doesnt do it with the controller off, its the controller for sure
Cold weather does things like that.
