Stock ECU + Turbo questions
Hey everyone, I had a couple questions regarding what I should do.
I was thinking about buying an fmax turbo kit, but without the additional injector BS they include with it. Instead, I was going to run a S-AFC, a set of DSM 450cc injectors, and one of those wideband O2 kits you put together yourself for tuning with the typical EGT gauge. I am eventually going to go Hondata or AEM standalone, but until then, can I get by with the stock ECU on 8psi, or is it out of the question?
This is the first Honda I have owned. Previously I have owned a DSM for 3 years, and have gotten to the point where I can tune one blindfolded. I figure the same concepts apply with the Honda, although I don't know exactly how the stock ECU likes to respond.
Can I get by with stock timing on a stock headgasket? Or will I need to run something like the MSD boost retard? Also, what should I run to increase fuel pressure per pound of boost?
Thanks

Stock ECU doesnt like boost, you'll need to run a missing link bypass valve so that the ecu doesnt see the boost. You can run an FMU to take care of the fuel, but like you said standalone is the way to go. Tuning the fuel and timing will have to be done on a wideband o2, every car is different. Try the FI forum, I'm sure they can help you a lot more than I can.
get the missing link as a temp fix. just make sure you have fuel. forget fmax, go with revhard or drag.... no sense in paying the big dough for the fmax if you aren't even gonna use their fuel system (Which is the whole reason it's more expensive).

dont get fmax.
you plan on using the safc and 450cc hack? you can adjust your settings -40. i would just get a drag or revhard kit. use the fmu and inline fuel setup til you can get yourself a hondata or whateva.
