Default i bought a lil clarke 95e 130amp arc

I am using very small sticks, I have it the hottest setting, and it wont even lay a bead, it jsut wants to stick...

any thoughts?

Make sure you have it the ground on the (-) and the stick on the (+). That way it transfers more heat to the stick.

u need to scratch it accross the metal like a match

then when u see the bright light keep the rod at that distance and move the rod accorss the metal u will feel the metal rod dissapearing ie. melting into the metal and thats the amount that u move the rod closer to the metal that u are welding.
