Default Greddy turbo kit install need help asap

Ok I just finished fixing a wiring disaster on a greddy turbo kit installed on my friends car. The kid who helped him install it said he needs no blow off valve??? Car flutters like crazy obviously because no BOV is installed. I told him thats retarded he need a bov to release the pressure that the flutter is bad. So i install a greddy rs he byes and cant get it to blow off. Tried every vacuum line in the car. I did get it to work by pulling the brake booster line of the manifold and using that to source the bov. It bolws of but the when I tee into original line it doesnt work. I am lost. I have worked on tons of turbo cars and never had this problem. Anyone have a clue whats up...

People install turbos on cars all the time. People who don't work for shops that is. Now... people who don't know what they're doing shouldn't install turbos... not even on lawnmowers let alone new cars.

wiring all messed up? guess yall didn't get the memo the first time that the wiring in the istructions were reversed.

the kit doesn't come with a BOV and i don't think it's stated as needed in the instructions...many turbo cars don't run BOVs.

check and re-check all lines...

or do like my buddy and get ur money back ...

I have installed many kits that not the problem. You are correct though him and his buddy have not and messed up lots of stuff. I went threw everything and fixed it (yes including the reversed wiring). The car runs fine without a Bov just has a bad flutter when you get of gas. Which to me is from having no BOV. I told him to get one but cant seem to get it to work correct due to weak pressure lines or something. Greddy told me it was cool to run no bov but I would think after time the pressures going both ways threw the turbo would cause damage.

He did have a shop look at it after I went threw it and they said everything looked right. They showed him another place to tee into for the BOV source but once again it didnt work..

O well thanks guys for your input..

I did that. Like I said I pulled the line of the intake mani side and just put the bov directly to it and it worked great but then tried to tee it into original line and it wouldnt blow off. I didnt get it. I know the line to the bov was big enought maybe he had a cheap tee but dont see how it would loose that much pressure...

Correct! LOL.... what kind of problems your running into?
I have a BOV on mine and its vented 100% to the atmosphere. It just stalls out once in a while when I come to a complete stop. Besides that the car is running perfectly fine

The greddy kit, from the sounds of the All Jap kit now, is a waste of money.

no need to get too technical if someone is going to say " take that 3k kit too a shop." then thats the person who dosn't have the ***** too do it themselves. It might be the greddy kit that i installed but either way, i install all my upgrades thats the only way i'm going to learn, if i mess up! oh well!

Probably obvious, but the only thing I could think of, is if you disassembled the BOV and checked to make sure the spring wasn't bound up and make sure there were no washers in the BOV to increase the spring tension... If you bought it new, it probably doesn't have any washers in there, but one thing to check out

Go talk to a shop. It could be worse...My kit is running alright but still a few little problems. The techs at cali greddy sent me the wrong basemap when I was updating my e-manage with the "new" basemap. Threw the car on a dyno and almost blew my motor because it was the wrong map. Detonation FTL!! Speaking of that Dan I talked to you the other day on the phone and I want to talk to you about cali greddy's f'up.
