How hard is it to install Greddy Turbo kit?
I'm in the process of saving and i found a local shop that will do $3700 for the Greddy turbo kit, Greddy fmic, install, dyno, and tune. Is that a good deal? I was thinking i could save $500 off that if I did the install myself. Greddy is all bolt on isn't it? How hard was the install for you guys? How long did it take? Thanks!
Btw, i'm a newb at this so if you guys could tell me anything else i would need that's not included in the kit.. thanks!

there is really nothing to it...almost like installing header's with some oil lines coming off of it and this big round snail looking thing also attached...

That's not a bad deal at all considering the retail price of that bad boy, and he's going to tune it... Not bad at all.
It's one thing if they've done it before.... If they **** up, they're responsible...
But if you **** up, you have no car... All you can do is yell at yourself for it..
Not to dis DIY guys, cuz I've done my fair share, but look at the $500 as an insurance policy..

depends on what shop you go to. There are some shops out there that will give you a hella price to install everything and then the moment you have something go wrong then it's just like you installed it yourself because they are not wanting to help out in anyway. I'm not saying that this happens alot, but I have heard my fair share of horror stories on internet forums and around towns about shady shops...
Just make sure that if you have a shop install it that the shop has a good rep.

Greddy kit is cake man....incredibly bolt-on.
Solid tools and a jack/stands is all you need. Aside from welding the fitting on the pan, although you could just drill and bolt on the pipe they provide.

******* easy as pie man. You open the box, all teh **** is right in front of you, and it's obvious where it all goes. It even has instructions... If for some odd reason you might need them
Me and my friend greddy'd his car drunk (30 pack between us) in one night, no problems 20k miles later!

Just remember.. You need to have the famous 1 bolt left over saga to know you did it correctly..

Re: How hard is it to install Greddy Turbo kit? (tgreaves)
I did the Greddy kit on my Si in about 8hrs. Pretty simple and straightforward. I think the thing that took the longest was waiting for my AC to finish draining off...I dropped the turbo against the condensor and put a small hole in it. OOPS! The instructions suck, had alot of leftover bolts...and some of the part #'s were wrong, but it was obvious...like that 17 MM bolt it really going to fit into the 10 MM slot.

any bolts brackets or other misc. peices are considered as weight savings after projects are completed! (as long as they are not structural )
