My friends car needs a new tranny today

i found a 2000 d16y8 civic ex tranny 5 speed for a good price, will everything bolt up perfect or no?

all the sensors plug in and stuff?

same axles?

same shift linkage?

same mounting?

yea but you will need the passenger side upper tranny mount to go with it. Bense please correct if I am wrong. I had to do this when I swapped a 95 si tranny onto my 98 cx

found a jdm d15b vtec LSD tranny for the car for $450 and 60000 kilometers verified

everything bolts up the same. only difference is the shifter forks and the synchro sleeves (because they touch the synchro forks) also the cage on one of the countershaft bearings is different


yes, everything is the same. i'm using a y8 trans on my d15b right now.

mounts are the same as when I had my z6 trans on there.

hmm the non si/ex trams use diff cases maybe that is the mount difference?

there's 3 holes on the trans housing. 2 holes have studs, one hole has a bolt. maybe a bolt / stud was swapped?
