Going to the track this wednesday for the first time with my 225/50/15 BFG drag radials. Any tips on what i should launch at? Also, should i go into the water pit and do a burn out to warm up the slicks?
I was initially going to go into the water pit, and do a 2nd gear burn out. And try launching at roughly 5500RPM while preloading so i don't bust my axles.
Anyways, set up:
Stock LS
t3/t4 .57 trim
3'' dp
38mm tial wg w/ 11.6 psi spring
Omni power sport coilovers, 10k front, 12k rear

drop your PSI to about 10-12psi... take it to 6k'ish .. preload it and ip away...
thats how i do my BFG's...
1/8th ran 8.0's in my LS-T in a DC with 100lbs tool box....
and yes WARM THEM UP....
2nd gear burn out... get them warmmmmmm BFG's like it that way!

definately warm them up! i run mine on 10 psi and probably do my burnouts for 6-8seconds before each run.
id start lower though, maybe like 4000 for launch rpm and go from there

I launch at 4K, and it sorta bogs already. But when i launch at 4500, i spin. I'll probably start off with 4500 launch, then proceed from there. I'll run tire pressure at 15psi, then lower it where i see fit.

yank up on your ebrake and rev up to RPM wanted to launch at... SLOWLY.... pull the clutch back when you feel the dip in the rear.. you are Preloading... this is to take some stress off the drivetrain so there isnt as much of a sudden shock to it when you come out the hole
and as you are about to take off you drop the ebrake of course....
there have been times when guys have not fully dropped them and wondered why there felt slow or smelled brakes..
