crappy launching
well today i was tired of studying for finals so i went out and practiced launching in a parking lot.
id get it up to 4k rpms and then release the clutch completly and mash the gas down, well it redlines in like 2 seconds or so, and theres mad torque steer, it gets hard to go straight, im so busy trying to get it to stay straight that i mess up wihle shifting. thankfully the lot was empty.
any ideas on how to do it better? my friend in his stock 02 corrolla (ha!) ha challenged me, and i dont wanna make an *** of my self by loosing.

Either feather the gas, or feather the clutch....its your choice. That's the only way to get a good launch. If you are on street tires and dump it from 4k and mash the gas at the same time or while the tires are still spinning, you're not gonna hook up. Then when you hit 2nd and hook up you're gonna bog and lose all your momentum.
