Default Shifting Question

Which is the best way to shift? When i shift into second i just dump the clutch and lay into the gas, this causes me to have bad wheel spin in second and third. My friend doesnt let off the gas and just shifts which i dont see how he does it since i think i would hit my rev limiter. So should i just not lay into the gas so hard after shifting, or feather the clutch? Any help would be appriciated, TIA.....

correct me if im wrong but ur friend is power shifting and no thats not good for you, never done it myself cause i like my car but i dont beleive it is good. And when u burn out like that in second kinda depends on what kinda road ur on to and the surface of it, also the tires makes a lot of difference. How many miles are on your tires?

i shift like that sometimes. never take my foot off the gas. and my rpms will only jump like 500 rpm's but if your not a fast shifter, you will bounce off the rev limiter. but u miss gears easier that way, casue your trying to shift faster, tring too hard may be bad. but i can't do that in second, if i do,i just burn the tires. i have to shift smoth and i get better times.no second gear burner. and i don't loose any ground.hope that helps.

Better tires...on a real drag strip with stick tires I dont see you "lighting the fronts" up going into second gear.

Full throttle shifts are worth it if your trying to squeeze all the power you can out of the motor ....I do it when dragging and it works nice.

Be smooth and co-ordinated when powershifting and your ET's will drop slightly

FYI if you cant dance, chances are your not co-ordinated enough
