it might have no lag but its so expensive to just hit the low 200 hp range. turbos have wayy less turbo lag now pon55. i know they lagged in your time but now its diff. (im kidding man except about the lag part, thats true )

If your thinking about k20a2 why are you dropping lots of money into the A3??

Also you WILL need Kpro to run cams in the car correctly.

Don't bother with cam gears -- they're already constantly variable anyway.

If I were you, I'd figure out what the long term plan should be for the engine. Don't do a bunch of work when you're just going to change your mind later. Save up the money and do it right when the time comes.

Personally, I don't need more than 220 whp or so, which has been reached by JRSC, turbo, or a K24A2/K20A2/etc motor swap. I can pick any of the above and feel fine.

Oh yeah... K20A2, stock, using KPro, and paying a shop to do it -- set aside about 5 grand or so. If I were to do that for my car, I'd at least add cams and an LSD, unfortunately bumping up the cost even more.
