alright iam new iam from the east coast of canada, i drive a 96 hatch with a b16a2 swapped into it, tonight i hooked up my autometer oil preasure gauge, now my question is, what should my gauge read (PSI) at idol? and through rev's? ballpark figures.

iam from nova scotia, in the quick search i did all i found with B16 and oil were a bunch of what types of oil to run and what oil with boost and oil pan things.

 

well, from what i've been reading, you need 57 psi for VTEC to engage in your engine.

"at about 180F my idle pressure is around 15-20psi and 50psi @ 3000rpm
at about 220F my idle pressure is around 10-15psi and 45psi @ 3000rpm

Using an OEM filter (bigger style), 20-25psi at idle, and ~70 cruising above 4000"

both of which on Integra Type Rs.

 

iam at idol at about 30-35 and ive seen it spike pretty close to 100psi up around 8000rpm not really sure if thats normal or not but it seemed to move alot, although around 60psi crusing at 50km/h

 

sounds a little high unless your oil pump spring has been washered.

 

you should be goodmines at 80 when vtec engages

 

how big is the filter? A difference of about 10psi can be observed if ur using a small filter such as the OEM ones. Try to look for the s2000 ones, they're bigger and fit right one there.
