Default Im new to b16sir2 help please.

Hey i just bought a del sol with a 94 jdm sir2 b16. It's really low on motor oil and i was just wondering what type of oil i should get. Could i use normal honda motor oil or does it have to be special?

Oh another thing, is a sir2 a civic si motor?

if its really low on oil, then it has probably been awhile since it has been changed. Change the oil. I use Mobil1 5w-30. No special oil required.

A SIR2 WAS A TYPE OF CAR IN JAPAN, ITS BETTER THAN THE SI OF THAT YEAR

IF TYPE-R WAS INTRODUCED BEFORE 96 THE SIR2 WOULD BE CALLED THAT, SO BASCIALLY ITS LIKE A 95 CIVIC TYPE-R MOTOR, IN LAMENS TERMS

Use any conventional oil for normal driving.. Or if you redline the car alot (run it hard) run a full synthetic motor oil. (mobil one full synthetic, valvoline syn power)

5W-30 ID GO THAT, BUY A FILTER FOR A 1995 DEL SOL VTEC, THATS THE MODEL NAME, NOT ANY VTEC DEL SOL, THE FILTER GUIDE BOOK SHOULD NOTE DOHC 1.6L MPFI, THAT IS THE FILTER U NEED HAVE FUN

royal purple is the best syntetic motor oil i have used, we use it on our full out race cars :D

go with 5w30 mobil 1 oil...synthetic...or royal purple...i usually use 5w30 when its the hot season and use 10w30 when its the cold season...but 5w30 is good overall....
