i bought this prelude for 300 bucks knowing that it had a problem, the guy said it needed new plugs and wires but that is not the case (i dont think)

here is what i have done and came up with so far

car starts right up but it runs really rough like its on 2 or three cylinders and sometimes stalls.
did a compression test to see if i had burned valves and everything came out well there
I took out plugs, they were all extremely black so i replaced them just to make sure,the car ran good for about 20 min then started acting up again, i took the new plugs out and they were pitch black yet again.
i thought maybe the wires were bad so i changed them out today and i still got the same shitty idle and troubles.
i took out each plug individually and placed them on the block then cranked the engine over to see if they sparked and they all did.

It seemed to me like everything was working right so now im stuck
then only thing i noticed was cylinder 2 plug was not black like it was not burnin but it sparked fine and passed the compression test.

man sounds like you have the same problem I do. I'm running extremely rich, 7- 8ish:1 a/f ratio. When the car is at idle it jumps from 900-1500rpm, i thought i was my CTR camshafts but when i pull out one of the spark plugs, it doesn't bog or choke, which scares me. It get spark on all 4 too. When I drive, my tach goes bazerk on me. Maybe some one can help us out.

 

Yep sounds like its running rich.

 

no fuel in cyl 2? try swapping injectors
check your MAP sensor
are you throwing any codes?
